Occupational Therapy for Adults We provide inpatient and outpatient specialized care to adults adjusting to life after an illness or accident that has caused a disability. Inpatient Occupational Therapy Occupational therapy might start while you are still being cared for in the hospital.

Driver Rehabilitation Program The driver rehabilitation program provides a pre-driving evaluation to assess your vision, cognition, perceptual skills, physical status, and use of a driving simulator. Barrier-Free Design Our barrier-free design outpatient service addresses the challenges presented by everyday living situations. Other patients may move to a skilled nursing facility for subacute inpatient care, where they receive monitored exercise therapy for two to three hours a day over several weeks.

After discharge from the hospital or nursing facility, rehabilitation therapists from a community home healthcare agency provide to minute therapy sessions, 2 or 3 times a week in your home. When ready, you transition to outpatient pulmonary rehabilitation at Rusk Rehabilitation for two- to three-hour-long sessions per week.

After completing outpatient treatment, we give you the tools you need to adhere to a lifelong healthy lifestyle, including an exercise program you can do at home or your local gym. Available to college students, recent college graduates, and high school seniors who are at least 18 years old, this free program consists of 3 internship sessions that are each 4 weeks long and provide participants with hands-on, observational clinical experience in a variety of health fields.

As a student in our program, you are assigned to a single specialty for each full four-week session. Participation is entirely voluntary, and interns do not receive a salary or stipend. The Statement of Research should address your previous research experience s and what role you had on the research team s. Please share which faculty member s you would be interested in working with.

How will your research demonstrate interdisciplinary rehabilitation? What type of research you would like to conduct after completing the PhD program? Submit three letters of recommendation.
